Debuting in 1996, the original Yu-Gi-Oh manga became a worldwide hit. It ran in Shonen Jump from 1996 to 2004 and even spun-off into a VERY popular anime in 1998 and ran until 2004. The Yu-Gi-Oh trading card game which debuted in 1999, is still one of the most popular TCGs next to Pokèmon. Now after 3 feature films (Yu-Gi-Oh, Pyramid of Light and Bonds Beyond Time) and 4 spinoffs (GX, 5Ds, Zexal and Arc-V), the original Yu-Gi-Oh cast is ready to come back to the arena.
4K Media announced that they are producing a new animated film to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the popular anime. The Dark Side of Dimensions is written by series creator Kazuki Takahashi and will feature Yugi Mutoh and Seto Kaiba as they face off against a new mysterious enemy.
Yu-Gi-Oh: The Dark Side of Dimensions will debut during Golden Week in Japan next April and will hit internationally in late 2016.
