For those of you not familiar with the name Milestone comics, here is a quick comic history lesson. Milestone was founded in 1992 by Dwayne McDuffie, Reggie Hudlin, Denys Cowan and Derek Dingle and was one of the first comic companies that focused on and created Black comic book characters. Milestone was also a subsidiary of DC Comics which produced a big hit in Static, who went on to be one of DC Comics most popular characters getting his own comics and animated show (Static Shock) and multiple appearances in the Justice League and Batman Beyond cartoons.
After McDuffie’s death in 2011, the team talked about a revival of the Milestone brand since they still retained ownership of all their creative licenses. The revival would include new and old characters and new creative teams. Hudlin, Cowan and Dingle have stated that the public could see its first look at Milestone 2.0 at this years San Diego Comic Con.
